Message to Parents and Carers

Dear Parents and Carers,

I have made some small but important changes to the structure of the Rosscon College day. These changes are designed to promote greater learning and to strengthen the employability skills of all our students.

The timings of the day remain very similar, with only a few key adjustments:

• Break: 10:45 – 11:00
• Lunch: 12:30 – 13:00

The main change is the introduction of a third lesson after lunch. Previously, enrichment time in the afternoon was often unstructured and sometimes a cause of distraction. Under the new structure, if students work productively in Lesson Three, they will still enjoy enrichment for the final 40 minutes of the day.

In addition, every Wednesday afternoon will now be dedicated to a more formal and structured enrichment programme. This will include trips, guest speakers, and off-site activities designed to broaden experiences and raise aspirations.

These changes are part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that every student at Rosscon College achieves their very best, both in their studies and in preparation for future employment.
